The Anti-Ragging Committee
The Anti-Ragging Committee was created as per norms of AICTE and Anna University to ensure the safety and well-being of students by preventing and addressing incidents of ragging. The committee comprises the Head of the Institution as the Chairperson, faculty members, administrative staff, Police representatives, Block development officer, Parents and student representatives. The committee collaborates with law enforcement agencies to create a safe and secure environment on campus. Committee comprises the following members.
Functions and Responsibilities of Anti Ragging Committee
- Formulate anti-ragging policies in accordance with the guidelines issued by regulatory bodies and legal authorities.
- Conduct orientation programs to educate students about the consequences of ragging.
- Regularly monitor campus activities through the use of surveillance systems and regular patrols.
- Set up an easily accessible and confidential reporting mechanism for victims or witnesses to report incidents of ragging.
- Promptly investigate reported cases of ragging, ensuring a fair and unbiased inquiry, and take appropriate disciplinary actions against the lawbreakers in accordance with the established policies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of reported incidents, investigations, and actions taken, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with other relevant committees, such as the Discipline Committee, to ensure a holistic approach to maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.
