Information Technology

   The department of Information Technology in MAMCET was on track in the year 2008 with the intake of 60. Since the inception, the department strives for providing quality and value added education and brings out student's skill and intelligence to solve real world IT problems. The department has highly qualified, experienced and eminent faculty members who are continuously supporting in teaching and in departmental activities. It has better infrastructure to conduct classes and laboratory sessions. We provide WiFi access to the students to access the Internet Connection.

   Our IT students are regular university rank holders. It has produced five batches of passed out students and many of our students are well placed in top MNCs. Department keeps on trying to get cent percent results and placements.

   Department has indigenous library maintained by the faculty. It also has well equipped labs with latest hardware and software such Red Hat Linux, Android, Intel XSD, Oracle, Wega, and Cloud infra structure to conduct practical sessions. It periodically conducts association activities such as Faculty development programs, student's symposiums, national level technical conferences, Seminars and summer training programs which are beneficial for the faculty and the students. It provides e-learning resources through Moodle LMS. It also motivates students and faculty to get NPTEL certification provided by IITs.

   Department arranges industrial trips, in plant training and Industry Projects to hone students technical skills and personality and also supports students to get them equipped for industry by career development and placement cell. Department also encourages the faculty and the students to participate in various competitions.

  • Conducted One Day workshop on “FOSS and the need for Centre of Excellence on Open Source and Open Research" on 05/05/2017.
  • The department of CSE and Oracle Academy organized a 5 days’ workshop on Database Design and Programming with SQL on 03/02/2017 to 07/02/2017.
  • A Seminar on “ Internet of Things” was conducted in association with SS Soft Solutions, Trichy for CSE/IT & ECE Students by Mr.Imran Khan at Newton Hall, MAMCET on 31st August 2016.
  • The Department of IT organized Digital India Drive as a part of ICTACT with MAM College of Education and all the Teaching & Non-Teaching members took over the exam conducted on 08.08.2016.
  • Infosys –MAMCET Tree Plantation Drive was organized in the college premises. Dr.M.Farida Begum HOD/IT guided the drive. Ms.V.Naveen Burveen & Mrs.V.Praveen Kumar, Mrs.A.Arthi & Ms.J.Joncy rendered their support for the drive on 06.08.2016.
  • A Webinar was organized for CSE & IT Faculty by Infosys Campus Connect on 12.7.2016, 14.17.2016 & 20.07.2016 on Topics like “Zoom IT, Rapter Part – I, Rapter Part– II & Rapter Part – III”.
  • ICT Training Program for Government School Secondary grade Teachers was arranged at our College premises from 22.9.2016 to 23.9.2016. Mrs.K.Revathi, Mrs.G.Usha Devi, Mr.Praveen Kumar, Mrs.S.Saranya, Mrs.RK.Maheswari & Ms.J.Joncy handled the classes for all Government School Teachers.
  • A “Computer Skill Development Programme” was conducted for Police Trainees at Newton Hall, MAMCET & IT Lab. The Staff members of CSE/IT Department Mrs.J.P.Justina, Mrs.A.Arthi, Mrs.G.Usha Devi, Mrs. V. Vinoline & Mr. Praveenkumar took over the Session from 27.06.2016 to 28.06.2016.



  • G. Kamalambigai placed in Surya Informatics, Chennai on Nov, 2016.
  • D.Nithya, P.R.Apoorwa, V.Lavanya got internship in Surya Informatics, Chennai on Dec 2016 to March 2017.
  • Saleth Fernandus J & Ajmal Khan A won the Anna University Zonal Football Tournament held at MAMCET.


  • Mr. Praveenkumar V attended Train the Trainer workshop on “Software Testing” conducted by Infosys Campus Connect on 28.11.2016 to 30.11.2016 held at VelTech University, Chennai.
  • Mr. Arun Pandian J attended “Foundation Program 5.0 in python” on 26.12.16 to 30.12.16 held at Infosys, Chennai.
  • Mr. Arun Pandian J attended the workshop on “Concept of Cyber-Physical systems” organized by PALS Program on 25.01.2017 held at Vivekanatha College of Engg. For Women, Namakkal.
  • Mr. Praveenkumar V attended Train the Trainer workshop on “UI Technologies” conducted by Infosys Campus Connect on 29.03.2017 to 31.03.2017 held at K. S. R College of Engineering, Tiruchengode.
