Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2009. The Department offers B.E (Mechanical) from 2009 with a current annual intake of 60 students. The departmental intake was increased to 120 from 2011 onwards. The Department of Mechanical Engineering emphasizes the fields of Thermal Engineering, Design Engineering, Production Engineering and Computer Aided Applications so as to facilitate the evolution of skills in students to help them attain a higher degree of knowledge, global competency and excellence, for the betterment of the society.

The PG course namely M.E CAD/CAM was started in 2012.

The faculty members are highly motivated and devoted to deliver the highest quality professional education to students and to develop core competencies and research. The Department has an excellent track record of organizing various seminars, workshops, symposium and conferences in areas of emerging technology. The placement record of the department had always been impressive. The Department labs are well equipped with latest equipments, software and Hardware. E- Learning resources are provided to students through Moodle Learning Management System.

    Engineering knowledge

    Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering.

    Problem analysis

    Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

    Design/development of solutions

    Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

    Conduct investigations of complex problems

    Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

    Modern tool usage

    Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

    The engineer and society

    Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

    Environment and sustainability

    Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

    Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

    Use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

    Domain Knowledge

    Work professionally in thermal, manufacturing and mechanical systems areas including the design and realization of such systems with the use of computational tools.

    Our Department is also offering 2 year PG-CAD/CAM programme.
