Admission Procedure
Admission Procedure is as per the Guidelines of DOTE, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
The UG admission is made in two parts, namely, the Government quota and Management quota.
Government Quota
The Government quota admissions are carried out as per the guidelines stipulated by the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA/TANCA) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai. B.Tech/B.E. admissions are done based on the candidate’s 12th standard/HSC scores through TNEA common online counselling.
Management Quota
The Management Quota seats, Consortium of Self-financing Engineering Colleges Management Association, advertises in the newspapers about the admission process, and admissions are made purely on the basis of +2 marks.
No entrance test is conducted for UG admission in Tamil Nadu.
Qualifying Examinations and Eligibility
A. For Admission to First Year B.E.:
The candidates must have passed the 12th (intermediate) or its equivalent examination from a government recognized board. The minimum average marks required in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry combined in +2 are:
- 45% for General candidates
- 40% for Backward Class (including Muslim), MBC, DNC, SC/ST/SCA candidates
B. For Admission to Second Year B.E. (Lateral Entry):
The candidates must have passed a Diploma in Engineering/Technology from the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu, or its equivalent, in accordance with the rules set by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
