An ombudsperson is a person appointed to investigate complaints made against particular organizations, especially public authorities. They act as an independent intermediary to resolve disputes and ensure fair treatment.
Ombudsperson Objective :
The main objectives of an ombudsperson are to investigate complaints, promote fairness, ensure transparency and accountability, and protect the rights of individuals against maladministration or unfair practices by organizations. They aim to resolve disputes impartially and improve the quality of services.
Ombudsperson Roles and Responsibilities :
The Ombudsman’s role is to address student grievances and ensure fair treatment. Their responsibilities include actively listening to student concerns, investigating complaints impartially, and mediating disputes between students and the college administration. They aim to provide a confidential and accessible channel for students to address their issues, ensuring that college policies are followed fairly and promoting a positive learning environment for everyone.
